Earlier this week we tweeted, explaining that our inaugral TransHack event is having to be delayed until the Winter due to Venue difficulties.
We wanted to go over this in a bit more detail here on our website to help progress transparency and explain why we’re actually excited about this change.
When we began organising TransHack we knew the first two things we needed to secure was; 1) a date, 2) a venue. We started exploring a number of possible West Midlands venues and two immediately stood out
We entered into discussions with a contact in our Coventry venue and went along with this option, unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, and indeed beyond the venue’s control, in July it was clear we were unable to go ahead with our August date.
What we’ve had since then is a scorching heat-wave, and we can only imagine how hot it could’ve been with lots of people and computers in a venue for a hackathon.
So we’re postponing until December, we’ll announce the date as soon as we’ve cleared it with our venue. This is exciting for us as it gives us more time to work with potential sponsors to make it the best TransHack possible, and by holding it in December, it’ll give everyone an opportunity to get in from the cold – does anyone know good vegan hot chocolate?
See you soon, and if you want to help, or have any questions, get in touch.
